" If a picture is worth a thousand words,
VR is worth a novel. "

From interactive drafts to fully photorealistic immersive experiences, using virtual reality in AEC and product design allows businesses to preview scenarios faster, cheaper and more richly than any other kind of media. It’s shareable as a file, requires no special training, and is about the truest representation of a space or object - short of actually making it.

My specialty is high-quality, near-photoreal environments designed to give a user the true impression of a space, of its materiality, its proportions, and the way light interacts with it. Far from just a preview, these environments are the first step to breathing life into a design before even laying the first brick.

Context Architects: VR Showreel 2020

Some of the highlights of my work for Context Architects, ranging from interactive wayfinding to fully immersive & lifelike interiors. All experiences were built in Unreal Engine for the HTC Vive.

Air New Zealand Virtual Flight Lab

The Virtual Flight Lab is an award-winning virtual reality experience produced by Waxeye Digital for Air New Zealand, as part of their 75th anniversary exhibitions at Te Papa and Auckland Museum.

My contributions to this project included 3D asset creation (modelling, texturing, rigging and animation), as well as composition of Unity scenes and VR testing.

Formica Formations

This project encompasses a virtual gallery space, showcasing the two winners of the 2017 Formica Formations competition, as well as framed shots of previous winners along the rear wall.

A key part of this gallery space is that these models only exist virtually - unlike previous years, winning project were not turned into physical models. This paradigm shows the potential of completely virtual spaces to redefine what it means to see, hear, and occupy a space.
